How was your weekend?

Hey Ya'll how was your weekend? Mine was pretty good, for the most part at least. I had some off moments were the depression kicked in and I just wanted to sleep the day away. But alas I had a child to take care of. My Aunt took Devin and Brooke to her house so for Saturday is was just me and Kara (the hubby was at work and my parents were at a wedding). Kara and I went to the neighbors for his 2nd birthday but were unable to stay for very long because Kara decided to be a big pain the arse! I didn't do my walking yesterday because we went to the in laws and then to the funeral for a viewing because the father of one of the hubbys closest friends died just last week. The hubby of course wanted to get his old truck and take it with us, which was fine with me the truck is nice, but there is no exhaust on it right now so that sucks because its very loud! When we left the funeral home it was raining and about half way to my grandma's house I realized that my pants were wet and the hubby realized he had forgotten to plug the holes that are in the wheel wells, so yeah the water from the road was splashing into the truck and get me wet, I tried to block the hole the best I could with my foot but I couldn't cover it completely and right before we got back to my grandma's I looked down and realized that not only were my pants wet but my shoes were muddy (because my grandma lives on a dirt road). Good thing we were dropping the truck off and not driving it all the way home that would have SUCKED! But I guess its okay, I was with the hubby on the trucks "maiden" voyage (it hasn't been driven on the road in over 18 years, I think) He was so very excited to drive his truck and that's all that matters. I'll be happy when he gets some stinking exhaust on it and adjust the brakes (its turns to the left really bad when you brake quickly).
Today I am taking it easy, I'll still go for my walk and maybe do my yoga (I'm not sure about the yoga right now) but I missed yesterdays walk so I really would prefer not to miss it today. But I'm really tired today and just want to take it easy, I was on my feet A LOT yesterday and would prefer to stay off my feet as much as possible. Brooke and Kara are watching Nick Jr., playing and fighting all at the same time. I think it may be nap time for Kara soon and maybe (hopefully) for me as well, Brooke has bothering me to watch either Rudolph the red nose reindeer or the grinch who stole Christmas so I think I'll let her watch one of those while I get a little nap in. Tomorrow is the funeral, the hubby has decided that he doesn't want to miss it and his work will understand so hopefully I will be able to talk my mom into watching Brooke and Kara so I can go with David. I would really like to go because I have never been to a military funeral and they will be doing a 21 gun solute. I know that is not a good excuse to go to a funeral, and obviously that is not my only reason, I want to be there to support the hubby and to support his friend as well.

Momma!

My 16 month old cracks me up with the the things she is starting to understand and say anymore. My dad gets all excited now, because yesterday morning, when she woke up and he got her out of her room the first things she said to him was poo poo, and sure enough she had poo'd so of course he was super excited because she new she had poop'd. Later on yesterday we were waiting on daddy to be done working on his truck and great grandmas house and she yells, "momma" , what Kara? "poo poo" ok. No she didn't poop this time but she knew it was time for a diaper change. Then on the way home she again yells, "momma!" What Kara? "I don't know" and silence. She is so silly! I think at that point she was so tired she just wanted to go night night and she just didn't know what else to say because I already knew she wanted to go to bed. We had a pretty busy weekend... Friday we (by we I mean, the Hubby, my Mother, Devin, Brooke, Kara and myself) all went to Costco to stock up on some food. We didn't do to bad I might say either since we managed to buy enough meat for 19 meals. Thats wasn't to bad other then having whining children, asking for this and that. On Saturday for most of the day we didn't do much but later on we went to my Aunts house for my Cousin Dimitri's Birthday (he turned 2 on Sunday) The kids had a blast playing with thier cousin and visiting with family. Of course what kind of day would it be if we didn't have some kind of scare, right? It seems Kara learned how to open the doors to the deck, they are the kind that have a handle that comes down not a knob to turn. Out of the blue my one of my aunts ask "why is Kara on the deck? to which I respond "I don't know, What?" there she was standing on the deck (which by the way is 2 storys from the ground!) standing there with no coat on eating dried corn that my aunt and uncle feed the deer with! Great so my kid is eating old corn and standing on the deck with no coat in about maybe 40 degree weather, Yeah I was so not happy! I am so thankful that she was ok but I did not know she knew how to open the doors, and I start thinking about the what if's! there was a bench on that deck pushed up against the wall that she could have easily climbed on to and fallen over the edge and no one would have known because we didn't know she was on the deck. It scares the poo out of me! I am thankful that she is ok and didn't decide to climb on anything. After my Aunts we went to the inlaws for cake and ice cream for Brooke, mother in law and sister in laws Birthday. You know that had my girls all excited they had cake twice in one day! And they got to stay the night at grandma's house which by the way made me happy because I was in a super bad mood that day and to get rid of the 2 children who for some reason couldn't stop fighting all day put a smile on my face! Yesterday (Sunday) we were on our way to pick up the girls, but first we had to stop at my grand parents so that David could get some pictures of his truck so that he could get insurance on it and register it, its a older truck so they need to see what it looks like, so that they could register it as a classic car. Well the stinking thing wouldn't start! After a few hours of waiting I asked the hubby is he realized it was getting late, he already knew that Devin had homework to do, So I went to to the inlaws and got the girls. But even when we got back to my grandparents Daddy still wasn't done, we didn't leave thier house till almost 8pm but the hubby was finally able to get the truck running and we were finally able to get the pictures we needed. Some stupid mouse put corn in parts of the truck were its impossible to clean, damn rodents! We had some cranky children on the way home, especially Kara who just wanted to go night night. We finally got the kiddo's home and in bed (don't worry Devin did her homework first) and we were able to get the grocery shopping done that needed to be done. and that was our weekend.

Have a Great Day!

Um, by the way you have a Brother....

So after reading Getting to know You (Sundays). One of my readers was intrigued to know how I found out at the age of 16 that I had a brother.
Well I will kinda skip to the beginning. My Mother and Father divorced when I was 4 years old (after this point you may here me refer to him as either the sperm donor or Danny). I saw the sperm donor on and off for years he was never very good at sticking with the every other weekend visitations that he was given. He eventually ended up getting remarried to a women I usually refer to as the Step Bitch (which there is another screwy story about my life that involves her but maybe we won't get into that), she had two children already who I could refer to as my step siblings but prefer not to (for many reason). When I was in 8th grade the sperm donor and his new family moved out of Michigan and it would be 4 years till I speak to anyone of them again. Well while keeping in touch with the rest of the sperm donors family (my family) one day my cousin tells me that he has another child, some girl living with them that he is calling his daughter. I of course begin to get upset because why is it that he has another daughter but won't have anything to do with me? What did I do wrong? (at this point in my life is about when the depression starts setting in). I confide in my mom because how could he do this to me? This is were she drops a bombshell or two on me. First she informs me that well when I was just about a month old my "father"(if you can call him that) cheated with the babysitter and its possible that the babysitter had his child. I was to later find out that is was actually his stepdaughters freind that had a horrible life and they aloud her to move in with them, and she began calling him her dad. But then my mom decides maybe its time for me to know the truth. Before her and the sperm donor got together and had little ol' me, he was with another women, my mom's best freinds sister. They end up having a child together and then after that she wanted nothing to do with him (I don't blame her). The last time she aloud him to have any contact with my brother was when he was 5, and she never told him that the sperm donor was his father. She let him think that her new husband was his father. (Oh if your wondering he is 4 years older then me) Well being that his mother was the sister of my mothers best freind we actually grew up together, never knowing that we were related. So yeah when I was 16 years old my mother tells me that a kid I basically grew up with is actually my brother! A few years later we were hanging out at a party and I asked him he knew that we were in fact brother and sister. I guess his mother thought that 16 was a good age to tell him as well. We keep in touch still, mainly over facebook and myspace. And every so often over the phone but its hard to go from not really talking to each other to acting just like brother and sister (especially when for 16 years you were an only child with no siblings at all). I'd love to have a close brother/sister relationship with him but its still very weird that he is indeed my brother, I think if we had known sooner things would be different but they are the way they are and I don't think they will ever be any different.
So there you have it.... Hope you enjoyed my screwed up story (haha).
For future reference if I talk about my father I am referring to my step Father who has been there for me for 17 years.

Oh, oh, oh before I forget guess what? We sold our Blazer! I am so excited! Hopefully the house is next!

Have a Wonderful Day!

I want a Transformer Car!

I love my Car, I really do! Its a 2008 Chevy Impala that the Hubby got for me (well us) back at the end of 2007 before we even found out that we were expecting Kara, before that we had a 2001 Chevy Blazer and trying to get 2 kids in and out of a 2 door vehicle was hell to say the least. So When we got the Impala is was SO much better! we least it for 3 years thinking that it will be fine for us, we figured that if and when we decided to have another child the lease would be up and we could lease or buy another vehicle. And then our little surprise came in December that we were again expecting another kiddo. Yes I know we have till August to figure out what we are going to do with 2 vehicles that only fit 5 people in them with a 6 person family, but I am freaking out! Our lease won't be up until like 6 months after this bundle gets here and the hubby for sure is not getting rid of his truck since he just bought it last March. We need a new vehicle that is all there is to it! David said that we'll just have to drive two vehicles when ever we go any where, okay that sounds easy enough except for the fact that its going to take up alot of gas and be a pain in the butt! And what if I have to go some where with all 4 kids by myself? I don't really feel comfortable putting my 6 year old (who will be 7 by the time junior (Devins name for the baby) gets here) in the front seat of the car. I mean I will if I have to but I would prefer not to, you know what I mean? Unfortunitly the dealerships are not having any early lease turn in programs, but we may be able to turn it in and have them tack on the price onto another vehicle, So I've been researching on the internet, I'm not like alot of people who think there is something wrong with having a mini van, I wouldn't mind having a mini van. So we found a used 2006 Chevy Uplander mini van, I also wouldn't mind having a newer 7 to 8 seater Chevy Traverse. So now we just need to go to the dealership and see what we can do. I so wish they could make this easier when you need a new vehicle! I want a transformer car that I can just say hey turn yourself into a mini van or a crossover. Wouldn't that be awesome? I think so!
